shikai: The blade is surrounded by a mass amount of electricity that causes increased damage and slight paralysis on contact. Can send forth bursts of electricity from the end of his blade.
bankai: The sword breaks down into red electircal power that courses through Vyen's body. He can create a shield or electircal power and can move faster. His attacks leave the area of the body he hit with a higher grade paralysis that helps since his major Bankai attack is rather slow. The ability calls down red lightning that hits the opponent and slowly infects their body. When Vyen activates the attack the infected area is ripped apart by the lightning returning to Vyen's body. If he allows the lightning to move through the body the attack destroys more of it to the point that if its in the whole body their body is ripped to shreds.

history: Before dying Vyen was an intelligent human. By the age of sixteen he had graduated from both high school and one of the most renown colleges in Japan. After college he followed his fathers foot steps and became a detective soon becoming known throughout Japan for his courageous and daring captures of some of the most dangerous criminals. As he was trailing a mass serial killer Vyen sacrificed himself to save the life of his partner. After his death his soul passed peacefully to the soul society knowing that he had lived his life to the fullest and had helped as best he could.
Once in the Soul Society Vyen wandered around trying to find some new purpose now that his dreams were left back on Earth. In his wandering he stumbled on a group of Soul Reapers that saved him from a hollow. The Soul Reapers realized that Vyen was being targeted due to his large stores of spiritual pressure. They asked if he would be interested in becoming a Soul Reaper and he agreed instantly having been impressed by the Soul Reapers.
In only three years Vyen was graduated and moving up the ranks of 2nd squad progressing fast due to his ability to grasp information and learn knew things quickly. When he got to 1st seat he stopped progressing serving loyally under Sou Feing until the accident that left all of the captains dead. When this happened Vyen was approached by a number of his squad members each asking him to work hard for Bankai so that the reputation and goals of Squad 2 wouldn't change under a new captain. So using the three day method that Uahara invented Vyen learned to master his Bankai and became the captain of squad two and the Special Ops.
