Weapon: Garret's power consists of the ability to create a glove around his lower right arm that acts as some what of an amplifier, allowing him to deal more damage to a spirit than what a normal human could do, and provides a thicker than average defense around it, acting as a shield almost. He is also able to conjure a blade from above his wrist while wearing his glove, that is about as long as his arm. However, what Garret doesn't know is that the blade is made of spirit energy, and also has a personality, Caelynna. Caelynna has the personality of a female, and is able to speak with Garret, but to him and him only. The only issue is that Garret doesn't know about Caelynna.
Caelynna is a female personality that resides within Garret's spiritual capabilities, and is recognized strongest when in Garret's glove form. She is quite sarcastic, and a bit too judgemental at times, but also feels alone often since Garret is unaware of her presence.
Skills: Above average martial arts, above average swordsmanship
Specialties: Garret has developed a knack for tending to his own wounds (as he doesn't like hospitals much. they're too slow for him) and so has learned various medical skills such as stitching wounds and making makeshift casts. He is also a fast learner and adapts to new situations fairly well.
History: Garret was born and raised in Seattle, WA for all his life. He was an only child, and was very smart when he was young. Throughout his schooling, he advanced often enough that he was able to graduate high school at the age of 16. He excelled in mathematics, and became very fluent in Japanese, taking to his mother's side of his heritage even though he took after his father's more dominate Irish heritage. When he was young, his father enrolled him in martial arts classes, so that he would learn to defend himself, and when he wasn't doing those or school work, he spent much time with his grandfather on his mother's side who taught him swordsmanship skills as well. Garret never really used the skills to beat others, but valued them in a way that he could use them if he needed to fight for some reason.
When Garret was 10, he was by himself in a park when he was attacked by a hollow. He didn't know what the hollow was and thought that he would be killed but in the midst of fear, his power manifested, a white glove that had a blade out of his wrist. Though he had killed the hollow by sheer accident, Garret had passed out after seeing the hollow disappear. He never told anyone, but from then on, had a dream every now and then in which a voice would call out to him. His power manifested once again when he was 15, after he saw a hollow chasing after the spirit of a young boy. He manifested it by accident, but after defeating the hollow, who had claimed that it had eaten shinigami stronger than him, sending Garret into a curious state that left many questions. Soon after, Garret had managed to learn how to use his power, and defeat hollows, but still has yet to get any sort of answer of the questions he seeks: what is this gift he has, what is the voice he dreams of often, and what exactly is a shinigami.
Now he lives in Karakura town, after his father received a job transfer in the trading company he works for. Not attending any school, Garret now sees Japan as a place to attempt to learn answers that he couldn't in Seattle, while still discovering more about himself.
